A photo of a cycling Netherlands Prime Minister that could make Nigerian politicians grin like a Cheshire cat has gone viral on the Internet.
Mark Rutte, who has led Netherlands since 2010, rode on his bicycle to the palace of the King of Netherlands for a meeting on Saturday.
A photo showed him locking his bicycle upon arrival at the palace with palace guards manning the entrance already adorned with red carpet.
Netherlands, a country of over 17 million, is said to have more bicycles than persons.
Bicycle, which is one of the most healthy and Eco-friendly modes of transportation, has been popular among the Dutch for decades.
Mr. Rutte’s frequent use of bicycles rather than the cliched bulletproof automobiles popular among political officeholders underscores a lifestyle of humility even in a country that is ranked among the wealthiest in the world.
In contrast, a typical Nigerian president could have up to 40 cars in his convoy while some governors have as much as 20 cars.

In October, 2018 the Independent National Electoral Commission reshuffled chairmanship positions of 5 out of 15 of its committees. Amina Zakari was the then Chairman of Electoral operations and Logistics. As a result of this action she was given a new chairmanship position to head the Health and welfare committee. In January 2019, Amina was given a new role as the Chairman of the committee on collation centers. So the news going around on social media accusing her of spear heading the postponment of the February 16th election is FALSE as she is not in charge of Electoral operations and Logistics but rather Professor Okechukwu Ibeanu.

Two persons are feared dead and 13 buses destroyed on Friday night after some  hoodlums attacked the buses  carrying sensitive electoral materials to Obot Akara local government area of the state. According to an eye witness report was the victims died as a result of gun battle between the hoodlums and the security personnels on election duties at Nto Edino, the headquarters of Obot-Akara, during the distribution of sensitive materials for the postponed Presidential and National Assembly elections.
