Donald Trump says he’ll get into heaven if he becomes president

Image
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump joked on Thursday that winning the White House could be his ticket through the Pearly Gates. “I figure it’s probably, maybe the only way I’m going to get to heaven,” he told a group of evangelical pastors in Florida. In recent weeks, Trump has been losing a number of key demographics, but most polls show he is still winning the evangelical vote. An NBC poll released this week found 71 percent of evangelicals plan to vote for Trump compared to 22 percent for Hillary Clinton.  Trump called on the pastors at Thursday’s meeting to help get out the vote, saying it would be “the most important election that the country’s ever had” for religious voters. “So go out and spread the word and once I get in, I will do my thing that I do very well,” he said.

Scores killed in Ethiopia protest crackdown

Protests accusing the government of unfairly distributing wealth have also hit the capital [File: Reuters] Scores of people have been killed across Ethiopia's Oromia and Amhara regions at the weekend, as the authorities brutally suppressed a new wave of anti-government protests in two key regions. Opposition leader told AFP news agency that up to 50 people were killed, while Amnesty International claimed more than 90 people were killed, many of them extrajudicially, in the protests linked to an aborted government attempt to commandeer local land. Et "We have reports of between 48 to 50 protesters killed in Oromia. This death toll might be higher because there were a lot of wounded," said Merera Gudina, leader of the opposition Oromo People's Congress. A diplomat confirmed that 49 people were killed. Among the towns worst hit by the violence were Nekemte, a town in western Ethiopia where 15 people were killed, the diplomat said, while 27 died in

PICTURE EXCLUSIVE: Wet and wild! Daphne Joy shows off her curves in a cheeky low-cut swimsuit during girls' Vegas getaway

Image
It has been two months since she split from Jason Derulo after less than a year of dating. And Daphne Joy certainly doesn't seem to be giving the singer another thought. The 29-year-old was very much enjoying the single life over the weekend  during a girls' getaway to Las Vegas. Daphne put her famous curves on display in a daring red monokini as she soaked up the sun by the pool. The star left little to the imagination in the plunging one-piece, which showed off her ample cleavage and boasted cut-out sections across the stomach and sides. Presidency defends dollar subsidy for Muslim pilgrims

Before you join the rants on social media on whether it was right or outright wrong for the Nigeria's Central Bank to subsidize the Dollar-Naira exchange for the Hajj participants, it is pertinent to note that it was also approved for the christian pilgrims as this provision was already catered for in the budget before the new foreign exchange policy by the Apex bank as explained by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity, Mr Garba Shehu.
