Buhari cancels the 'N5,000 Largesse' To Unemployed Nigerians

Image
President, Muhammadu Buhari has said he won't be giving N5000 monthly stipend to unemployed Nigerians as is being bandied around. The President disclosed that he has a different priority and approach to rewarding unemployed Nigerians other than to  pay the N5,000 monthly stipends his party promised.   Buhari made the remark in Saudi Arabia while he performed his lesser hajj before leaving for Doha in Qatar.   The President said he would rather channel resources into the building of infrastructure, education, agriculture and mining to create employment opportunities for able bodied young men. In his words, "This largesse N5,000 for the unemployed, I have got a slightly different priority. I would rather do the infrastructure, the school and correct them and empower agriculture, mining so that every able bodied person can go and get work instead of giving N5,000 to those who don't work."

Robert Mugabe's $1million-dollar 92nd Birthday Party Sparks Criticism in Zimbabwe

Image
Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe days ago marked his 92nd birthday at a $1.1 million party organised by his supporters. This party has however drawn criticism from his opponents who said the celebrations in the drought-stricken country was an affront to his countrymen. Mr Mugabe, Africa's oldest leader, turned 92 on February 21 and thousands of his party supporters gathered to pay tribute to the country's only leader since independence from Britain in 1980. He has shown no intention of stepping down. Mr Mugabe, who was accompanied by his wife, Grace, and their children, released 92 balloons and sat listening to poetry readings, songs and chants by supporters hailing him as an African icon and a visionary. A giant cake made to look like the ancient ruins for which Zimbabwe is named was set out in a nearby marquee. School children, foreign diplomats, government ministers and security chiefs were also present. Pupurai Togarepi, ZANU-PF's youth leade

Sunday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye (Open Heavens 28 February 2016)– Love, the Fulfillment of the Law II

Image
Memorise: By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. – 1 John 5:2 Read: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (KJV) 4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Bible in One Year: John 3:16-4:30, Job 30:9-16 MESSAGE: The memory verse for today tells us in very strict terms the godly means of measuring love among brethren. Any show of love that does not stem from the love of God and obedience of His commandments, should be considered fake and deceptive. It should be noted that the focus of Apostle Paul here is not on the fulfillment of the Mosaic Law, but rather about the biblical principle as established by God for Christian practice. T

And he said unto me, Write: for the

Is something wrong with you Yoruba people? Must you turn everything into a form of greeting?” “You are insulting me?” “I m making a statement” “Meaning?” “Any serious matter at all, you and your people must turn it into something else. E ku exchange rate? What kind of greeting is that? Yoruba will say e ku election, e ku democracy, e ku change, e ku ana, e ku gbogbo e, gbogbo e, e ku democracy. I am tired of answering you people and your cynical greetings.” “The people don’t mean any harm.” “That was how somebody came to me the other day and said e ku Mecca, Medina, e ku Qatar. Jonathan’s former ADC files N100million lawsuit against EFCC ‎over unlawful detention

Image
Former ADC to former President Jonathan, Col. Ojogbane Adegbe, has filed a N100 million lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over claims of unlawful detention. In a fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by his counsel, Ogwu Onoja (SAN) before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Gudu, Adegbe said he has been in EFCC custody since February 11 and has not been charged with any offence. Adegbe argued that the EFCC has violated his right to personal liberty and freedom of movement as guaranteed under Section 35 and 41 of the 1999 Constitution by his detention. He said the army authorities had summoned him from the United Kingdom where he had been attending a course since he finished serving as Jonathan’s ADC on May 29, 2015 to honour EFCC invitation over his alleged involvement in the disbursement of the $2.1 billion arms deal fraud. Schoolboy's mum furious after he wins competition to live with porn star for a month

Image
A teenage schoolboy is over the moon after winning a month living with a porn star in an online competition. Ruslan Schedrin, said to be 16, could spend a month in a hotel with X-rated movie actress, Ekaterina Makarova. Astonishingly, Ekaterina, hasn't ruled out having sex with the teenager. But his mum and sister are furious, insisting the prize is inappropriate for a 16-year-old(the age of consent in Russia), adding that he should be concentrating on his education. He said: "I didn't believe it at first, I thought it was rubbish. "But when it turned out to be true, I thanked the website - I was so happy. "I called my friends and they did not believe it either. They said, 'What are you talking about?' Now they are happy for me too. Some of them are envious.""I saw her and I liked everything. She has got good sizes. "I am looking forward to our meeting so much - everything is boiling inside me. I am happy so much. "I h

"My Gold Shoe Can Buy Linda Ikeji's Hermes Bag, So Let Her Stop Her Noise"-Rotimi Odunayo

Image
UK based celebrity photographer and CEO of Events Reloaded Media, Mayor Rotimi Odunayo made this statement over the fallout from the controversial Hermes bag drama involving blogger Linda Ikeji.  In a post on his website, Rotimi said: ”My gold shoe is worth her bag and she can google it on the internet and see the price and the shop I bought it from in the UK. Linda should focus more on helping and supporting Nigerians with her wealth of experience in the industry not showing off with things of life.   ”It is high time Linda keeps quiet and focus on her blogging and think of ways to expand in business and support those that needs to be helped in the society. As per the fight with Wizkid? I believe they can settle it in the closet rather than public.” To me he is doing the same thing as LINDA IKEJI ...

I challenge Pres. Buhari to involve the youth to provide solutions to the economic challenges facing Nigeria today- Summy Francis

Image
Summy Francis is the president, Africa's Young Entrepreneurs...Read what he wrote below. It is of great concern that the status of the Nigerian economy has affected both the young and old. The youth are in total defiance of what our leaders have driven the nation into with unism of thoughts and actions. I urge Nigerians to stay calm and positive as the catastrophic and calamitous state were mistakes of some arguably past leaders and generation. I ponder on how our Nation's economic stance has been viewed with disdain by some world powers even the citizens. It is a note to us that we can't give the right to a solution to those who brought it upon us. Fellow Nigerians, our inability to self-sustain through our manufacturing, agricultural and natural resources sectors have encouraged unprintable names such as radical consumers, aggressive buyers and the dumping site for unconsumed or faulty parts on the "Giant of Africa" . A country with over 180M citizens

Those who distorted the 2016 budget will be severely punished - Buhari

Image
President Buhari has vowed to severely punish all those involved in the 'padding' of the 2016 National Budget. According to a statement by presidential media aide, Femi Adesina, Buhari said this while addressing the Nigerian Community in Saudi Arabia yesterday February 23rd. “The culprits will not go unpunished. I have been a military governor, petroleum minister, military Head of State and headed the Petroleum Trust Fund. Never had I heard the words “budget padding”. Our Minister of Budget and National Planning did a great job with his team. The Minister became almost half his size during the time, working night and day to get the budget ready, only for some people to pad it. What he gave us was not what was finally being debated. It is very embarrassing and disappointing. We will not allow those who did it to go unpunished," he vowed. He reaffirmed his administrations zero tolerance for corruption"We have zero tolerance for corruption and other unethical prac

Ghana Denies Banning Imported Goods From Nigeria

Image
Following a news report carried by the Vanguard newspaper that Ghana has placed a ban on some imported goods from Nigeria, the office of Ghana Consulate-General in a statement debunked the claim, saying that at no point did the Ghanaian authorities ban any imported goods from Nigeria. Vanguard had on February 18, 2016 in a report titled: ‘Ghana bans goods from Nigeria, other countries’ stated that Ghana has prohibited some items from entry into its domains, following Nigeria’s footsteps that restricted 41 items from access to foreign exchange, adding that Ghana had however placed a ban on some goods from being imported into the country. The statement reads: “The Ghana High Commission would wish to state categorically that the (story) is false and does not reflect the position of the Ghanaian Government or that of the Hon. Minister of Trade and Industry of Ghana, Mr. Ekwow Spio-Grbarah, as alleged by the Vanguard report.”

Wednesday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye (Open Heavens 24 February 2016) – Heaven: Are You Prepared?

Image
Memorise: Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. – Job 14:1 Read: 2 Timothy 4:6-8 (KJV) 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Bible in One Year: Luke 19:28-21:24, Job 28:7-19 MESSAGE: In the Bible, the word ‘Heaven’ is often used in three ways: to described a physical part of the universe which is above the sky, the prevailing condition whenever God reigns in the affairs of men, and the invisible dwelling place of God, also known as paradise. Today’s devotional focuses on the need to prepare for heaven, the dwelling place of God, and what such a preparation entails. First, the Bible presents heaven as the dwelling place of God, where His manifest pre

He was offered a bottle of beverage and some water by a Good Samaritan after he complained of hunger. Saturday daily devotion by Pastor E. A. Adeboye (Open Heavens 20 February 2016) – Beware of Deceivers II

Image
Memorise: But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. – 2 Timothy 4:5 Read: Romans 16:17-20 (KJV) 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. Bible in One Year: Luke 11:1-12:34; Job 24:21-25:6 MESSAGE: The Bible repeatedly warns children of God to beware of deceivers in the form of false teachers and prophets, because their operations are usually so smooth that their activities

Mystery: India-based Nigerian dies on eve of elder brother’s burial

Image
Francis Okika Diei was one of Nigeria’s brilliant and determined youth that moved out of the country in the 70s in search of greener pastures.  He chose India. India became his second home for the next three decades, until last Saturday.  He worked hard.  He became a merchant of textiles, dealing in all things clothing and textiles. Okika visited Nigeria occasionally. As the years rolled by, he would visit home to see his immediate family on special holidays, his annual vacation or when he felt he wanted to be with “my family”. The family comprises his late parents and siblings. “ Jebose , our country has been marginalised by our rogue leaders through the years, that’s why most of us ran away. But it’s still our nation and we must always return to invest in it, create opportunities for others with our investments. Nigeria is investors’ haven,” he once said during a facebook chat few years ago. Hence he frequented Nigeria within the past decades to invest in
