Over 1,000 Cultists Laid Down Arms At Deeper Life Crusade In Rivers State
After attending a crusade organised by Deeper Christian Life Ministries recently, over one thousand cult members have denounced cultism in the Ogoni area of Rivers State.
Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Thursday, President of Ogoni Youth Development Initiative, Imeabe Oscar, said about 1,300 cult members denounced cultism after attending the crusade.
According to Vanguard, based on incessant cult-related killings and kidnappings in the area, men of God met and decided to seek spiritual interventions.
The community then invited the General Superintendent of Deeper Life, Pastor William Kumuyi, for a deliverance crusade during which the cultists repented and surrendered to God.
While speaking on the development, the OYD President expressed joy that peace had returned to Ogoni after the cultists repented, and thanked Pastor Kumuyi for the prayers made during the programme for the people of the area, calling on other communities troubled by cultists to seek God.
He said: “I am happy to tell you that the crusade by W.F. Kumuyi has brought about peace in Ogoniland. A good number of the cultists have given their lives to God.
“It will also interest you to know that after the crusade, Deeper Life Ministries graciously took 1,300 cultists to her camp ground, where changes were made in their lives.
“We will also introduce skills acquisition and other development programmes for these youths.”
One of the repentant cultists (names withheld), recounting his acts before: “I was a terrorist. I go to the federal road to shoot and kill people. I derived joy in terrorising people.”
